What's on Dunoon? Our new website is LIVE

The Dunoon Area Alliance e-newsletter has been getting longer and longer as we gather and share more and more information on events and activities across Cowal.

The development of the e-newsletter has been part of a wider project exploring how to improve local communications and digital connections across the area for the benefit of our community, particularly vulnerable residents, the voluntary sector, local businesses and the local authority.

Your positive feedback about the e-newsletter has informed the next stage of this work and the creation of a new website and brand called What's on Dunoon.

The What’s on Dunoon website has been set up as a pilot project to help investigate how much work and cost is involved in keeping local event information visible and up to date on an accessible website, as an alternative / in addition to social media channels.

Take a look at What’s on Dunoon Over 90 events from across Cowal are already listed on the What’s on Dunoon website and we know there will be many more to add. Please have a look and let us know about any events that you want to see featured. There is some great Christmas gift inspiration in the mix of events too - you could buy someone tickets for a show or a place on a workshop and support a local event at the same time.

Can I add an event? Yes. You can register as a user on the ‘Add an event' page and, once approved, you can add your event information, including title, description, image*, event type, venue, price and booking link.

*To keep information on the site accessible any images used for event should have no text on them. If you don’t have a text free image for your event, don’t worry - we can provide one. Simply submit your event without an image.

Your event will be approved within one working day.

Do I need to pay to add my event to be listed? At this stage all events that meet our Equality and Diversity policy can be added to the site free of charge. To sustain the site into the future we will probably have to introduce an affordable fee structure. The site is free at the moment and our focus is on developing What’s on Dunoon as a useful resource to support people to get the most out of our brilliant local area.

Can I make a donation to support this project? Donations to support this project are very welcome. To make a donation contact: ann@surf.scot
